Kane Williams is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a 14-point come-from-behind win over Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Williams finished with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds to help the Panthers defeat their rivals for the third straight time and the sixth time in the last seven meetings with an 82-77 victory in Statesboro.
Georgia State trailed by 14 points with 12:55 to play before rallying for the 82-77 victory. Williams went 7-of-9 from the free throw line down the stretch while recording a pair of steals and an assist.
The junior guard is averaging 13.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game and shooting 73.7 percent from the free throw line.
Georgia State will return to action on Thursday against South Alabama at 7 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena.
