Damon Wilson is the GSU Student-Athlete of the Week.
Wilson and the Panthers knocked off Sun Belt Conference rivals Louisiana and ULM by a combined 70 points to return to the top of the conference standings at 12-6 overall, 5-2 in the Sun Belt.
In three games last week, Wilson averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from 3-point range.
He opened the week by just missing a double-double with 19 points and eight rebounds at Arkansas State while going 7-of-13 from the floor with three 3-pointers.
In Thursday's 90-52 rout of Louisiana in which no player played more than 25 minutes, Wilson totaled nine points, five assists and a rebound.
He finished the week by filling up the box score with 11 points, five assists and four rebounds as the Panthers cruised to a 22-point win over ULM. Wilson went 4-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-4 from 3-point range.
For the season Wilson is averaging 11.6 points and a team-high 4.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.0 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent from 3-point range.
The Panthers return to the court Thursday, when they travel to Sun Belt Conference preseason favorite South Alabama. Tip is set for 8 p.m. ET from Mobile.
