Top Moments of the Top Decade of GSU Basketball

Georgia State enjoyed the most remarkable decade in program history from 2010-2019. The Voice of the Panthers Dave Cohen and Associate A.D. Mike Holmes sat down and laid out what they feel are the top 10 moments of the decade. The duo barely missed any games home or away during the decade and were fortunate enough to be a part of the most remarkable decade in program history.

Trailing by 12 with 2:53 to play, No. 14-seed Georgia State scored the final 13 points including a 30-foot 3-pointer from R.J. Hunter to shock No. 3-seed Baylor 57-56 in one of the top moments of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
2013-14 Sun Belt Regular Season Champions

In its first year returning to the Sun Belt Conference, Georgia State rolled through the league with a 17-1 record to earn a conference title which the Panthers celebrated on their home court in 2014.

Georgia State topped in-state foe Georgia Southern 38-36 in the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Championship Game to claim the league title and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 14 years.

After R.J. Hunter lead the Panthers on a Cinderella comeback in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, Georgia State was nominated for 'Best Upset' and attended the 2015 ESPY's in Los Angeles.

Following his junior season, R.J. Hunter declared for the NBA Draft and was selected with the No. 28 pick by the Boston Celtics. He became the first first-round pick in program history.

Trailing by as many as 22 points in the second half, Georgia State rallied for one of the most remarkable comebacks in NCAA history to shock Alabama as Malik Benlevi knocked down a 3-pointer as time expired for an 83-80 victory in 2018.
