ATLANTA – The Georgia State women's golf team will close out the fall season traveling down I-75 to Macon for the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship beginning on Monday. The two-day event will feature teams from throughout the country on the par 72, 6,083-yard course.
Sophomore Emma Berlin led the Panthers with a tie for 28th two weeks ago at the FIU Pat Bradley Classic as Georgia State finished in 10th place. Berlin leads the squad with a 74.33 scoring average this fall.
"This field features an interesting mix of teams from all over the country," head coach Jessica Steward said. "Boise State, Seton Hall, Lamar, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and Cincinnati are all traveling a long way to compete here. We'll get to see our conference rivals Georgia Southern and Troy again, in addition to playing alongside James Madison, whom we've been paired with for five out of our nine rounds so far this fall.
"It's a great opportunity for us to redeem ourselves against some familiar faces, while testing the team against some new ones."Â
The line-up will have a familiar feel and include senior Harmanprit Kaur, junior Chloe Howard, sophomores Emma Berlin and Maria Blasco, along with freshman Jenny Marston. Junior Petra Duran and freshman Courtney Lewis will compete as individuals for the Panthers.
The 16-team field will include host Mercer, Boise State, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Lamar, Seton Hall, Southern Miss, Mercer, Radford, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Troy, UNC Greensboro, and Western Carolina.

The field will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The Panthers will be paired with Cincinnati and James Madison. The final round on Tuesday will also be a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m.
Following this week's tournament, Georgia State will open the spring season at the Amelia Island Collegiate Feb. 17-18, at Amelia National Golf Club.
