Four Panthers Make GSU Debuts in Loss at Georgia Tech

GSU struggled on offense Wednesday at McCamish Pavilion.

ATLANTA – Georgia State was defeated by Georgia Tech 69-28 Wednesday night at McCamish Pavilion.

Four Panthers made their 2019-20 debuts for GSU including transfers Taylor Hosendove and Tehya Lyons. The duo was granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA after transferring to GSU from Clemson and Pittsburgh, respectively. Hosendove finished with six points, tied for most on the team. Lyons added five points.

Freshman Emma Drash made her collegiate debut and junior Rakeah Williams saw her first game action in more than a year after missing last season due to injury.

The Panthers struggled to find a rhythm on offense shooting just 17% from the field. Georgia Tech used their size advantage in the paint and shot 47%.

Coming off a 20-rebound performance last week, Shaq Miller-McCray had another strong showing Wednesday with 12 rebounds.

Next up for Georgia State is Alabama A&M next Tuesday at GSU Sports Arena at 6 p.m.
