ATLANTA - Volleyball stand-out Sydney Stroud is this week's Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines, after leading the Panthers at the UAB Blazer Invitational.

Stroud led the Panthers with 46 kills, an average of 3.3 kills per set, while also earning 12 digs in three matches over the weekend. After a tough 3-1 loss to host UAB and a 3-2 loss to Austin Peay, Georgia State rebounded with a 3-2 win over Charleston Southern in the final match of the event.

Stroud, a sophomore from Madison, Wisc., played in 21 matches last year as a freshman.

The Panthers will return to the court on Monday afternoon heading out on the road to face Kennesaw State at 2 p.m.
