ATLANTA -- Georgia State fell to DePauw 6-2 Monday afternoon at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The Panthers (14-10) fell behind 5-0 in the fourth and before scoring two runs on Caden Bailey's one-out single. After DePauw added a run in the fifth, Jerry Stuckey came on and shut down the Tigers (3-7) the rest of the way, but the Georgia State could not rally.
Stuckey retired the final 11 batters in order with five strikeouts in 3.2 innings.
Georgia State left 13 on base, including three in the eighth, when the Panthers loaded the bases with one out but failed to score.
DePauw starter Mike Hammel (1-1) allowed two runs on eight hits in 7.1 innings. He struck out six and walked five. Starter Tanner Love (0-1) took the loss for GSU.
Bailey had two hits and two RBI for the Panthers.
Georgia State plays a doubleheader Tuesday at Alabama A&M. beginning at 1 p.m. CT, the Panthers' third twinbill in the last 10 days. After a Sun Belt Conference series this weekend at UT Arlington, Georgia State's next home game is April 1 vs. Georgia Tech at 6 p.m. at the GSU Baseball Complex.
