Harrisonburg, Va.--The Georgia State men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 match in overtime on Sunday afternoon at James Madison.
The Panthers (4-12-0, 1-8-0) received a goal from sophomore
Ali Elkhalil in the 32nd minute to tie the match at one goal apiece. The goal was Elkhalil's first of his career and was assisted by fresh,an
William Mellors-Blair. The assist was Mellors-Blair's team-leading sixth assist of the season.
James Madison (8-5-3, 6-1-2) forward Josh Grant netted the game-winning goal in the extra period after he fired in a rebound off a shot from midfielder Paul Wyatt. Brett Surrency, returns home for two matches beginning with a 7 p.m. match on Halloween night against George Mason. The Panthers conclude their regular-season with a 1 p.m. match on Nov. 4 vs. Stetson.
