BOSTON, Mass. – The Georgia State volleyball team dropped a
3-0 decision to conference foe Northeastern Sunday afternoon.
With the loss GSU fell to 4-18 on the season including a 2-8
mark in the CAA. Northeastern improved to 18-5 overall and 7-2 in the
conference. The Huskies took set one 25-22, set two 25-18, and the third set
25-19.
Freshman Dede Bohannon led GSU in scoring for the second
straight match with 10 kills. Freshman Eliza Zachary had a strong performance
for the Panthers with seven kills and seven total blocks on the day. Rookie
setter Natalia Nieto set up a match-high 26 assists.
Senior Jamiee Freeman's 17 digs set the pace for the
Panthers.
Huskie outside hitter Kelly Bacon led all-scorers with 11
kills on the day and set a match-high with 19 digs.
The Panthers return to action Friday November 2, to host
Delaware in the final series of the season and as a member of the CAA. Friday's
action begins at 7 p.m. at the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers close out the
season Sunday November 4, at 1 p.m. as they host Towson in the season finale.
Freeman will be honored prior to Sunday's match.
