Northeastern led by two points at 51-49 with six minutes to play when State missed four tries for the tie. Still up 54-52 with five minutes to play, seven offensive rebounds in a row and finally two free throws put the Huskies up 56-52 with three minutes left. Lead by three, 58-55, with 1:28 left, Lucia Pablos sank the front end of the one-and-one to make two free throws and extend the Huskies lead to five. The Huskies grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and nailed 13 free throws to mark the difference.

Georgia State had a season high nine three-point baskets, one more today than Northeastern, who was second in the CAA in treys per game. The Panthers got a career-best 18 points and career-best eight assists from sophomore guard Monica Mann, who missed the last game with a concussion. Brittany Hollins produced her first double-double game of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Traci Haltiwanger hit for 13 points.

Northeastern (10-15/5-10) got 18 second half points from senior guard Shaleyse Smallwood after she didn't score in the opening half. Jasmine Crew had 17 points with Lucia Pablos adding 12 and Ashlee Feldman 11 points.

In the first half, Georgia State broke from a 3-3 tie at 18:08 with a 12-0 sparked by a pair of Monica Mann three-point baskets to make it 15-6 at 14:50. But, host Northeastern answered that with a 9-1 run of its own on a pair of treys to close to 16-15 at the 11:00-minute mark. With State holding a five-point lead, 20-15, Northeastern hit three straight baskets to take a 21-20 lead at 6:37. State again responded strongly with an 8-0 run with an old-fashioned three-point play by Traci Haltiwanger giving the Panthers a 28-21 lead at 1:44. Crews hit the final basket of the half for Northeastern to make it 28-23 at the intermission break.

The Panthers will travel to Delaware on Thursday evening for its next CAA game.
