Georgia State Visits VCU Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 24, 2007) ? Georgia State will play its final road game of the regular season Sunday when the Panthers visit Va. Commonwealth at 2 p.m. in Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball action.

The Panthers (15-12, 7-9 CAA) are looking to snap a three game losing skid ? tying their longest of the season ? with a victory. The contest is the first of the final two regular season games for State, which still has an opportunity to finish sixth in the final CAA league standings. Georgia State can finish no worse than eighth, regardless of the outcome of its final two games.

Sunday's game will be broadcast live over the Internet at GeorgiaStateSports.com, www.wras.org and on the radio at WRAS-FM (88.5) in Atlanta.

With a win, the Panthers would earn their 16th victory of the year and guarantee their ninth winning season in the last 10 years. State is 5-8 on the road this season and 3-5 on the road against conference opponents.

State trails Va. Commonwealth 3-1 in the all-time series after dropping a 75-64 overtime decision to the Rams (15-11, 8-8 CAA) on Jan. 21, 2007 in Atlanta. A victory earns the Panthers a regular season split of the series. Georgia State has dropped three straight to VCU in the series.
