ATLANTA (Feb. 14, 2007) ? Georgia State visits Northeastern Thursday at 7 p.m. in Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball action in Boston.

The Panthers (15-9, 7-6 CAA), who have won two straight and four of their last five, are hoping to keep pace with four other teams in a competitive battle in the CAA standings. State is tied for fifth with two other teams and one-game out of fourth place in the standings.
The all-time series against the Huskies (3-21, 2-11 CAA) is tied at 2-all. The Panthers topped Northeastern 76-51 back on Jan. 4 in State's CAA home opener. The Panthers are 5-6 on the road this season and 3-3 on the road against conference opponents.
Northeastern enters the contest having dropped eight straight games. The Huskies are 2-8 at home this year and 2-4 at home against CAA foes.
Senior guard Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen (St. Petersburg, Fla.), paces State's offense, averaging 17.9 ppg, which ranks 41st nationally in scoring average. She is third on the team in rebounding at 5.5 boards per contest and leads the team in assists with 6.7 per outing, ranking 4th nationally. Her 82.4 percent free throw shooting is tops on the squad and listed 72nd in the nation.
Freshman forward Danyiell McKeller (Fayetteville, N.C.) is fifth on the team in scoring (9.2 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.8 rpg). Another freshman, guard Tabitha David (Mableton, Ga.), is averaging in double figures, totaling 10.7 per contest to rank third on the team. David is the team's top 3-point threat, connecting at 42 percent from beyond the arc and leads State with 53 treys. Her 3-point field goal percentage and 3-point field goals made per game (2.4) rank 23rd and 33rd, respectively, in the nation.
Sophomore center Marcquitta Head (Conley, Ga.), the reigning CAA Player of the Week, is Georgia State's top rebounder, collecting 8.8 boards per game, which is 63rd nationally; she scores 11.5 points per contest, ranking second on the team. Sophomore guard Brittany Hollins (Columbia, S.C.) is having an all-CAA type season, holding averages of 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds 5.3 assists and 3.4 steals per game. Her steals per game average leads the CAA and is listed 6th in the nation, while Hollins' assists per game average is 25th.
Junior Shaleyse Smallwood is Northeastern's top scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game. Sophomore Ashlee Feldman owns a 13.8 ppg average, while junior Lucia Pablos scores 12.8 per game. Stephanie Hodell is the Huskies' top rebounder (8.3 rpg).
