Georgia State Faces Old Dominion Thursday

NORFOLK, Va. – Georgia State plays the first of three straight road games Thursday when the Panthers take on Old Dominion at 7 p.m. at the Ted Constant Center.

Georgia State (9-5, 1-2 CAA) has won nine of its last 11, while Old Dominion (6-7, 2-0 CAA) has won three straight contests.

Thursday's game will be broadcast live over the Internet at www.wras.org and on the radio at WRAS-FM (88.5) in Atlanta.

This will be the third meeting in the series between Georgia State and Old Dominion. The Lady Monarchs, winners of 15 consecutive Colonial Athletic Association championships, own a 2-0 lead in the series after capturing the season series last year. ODU topped State 89-50 on Feb. 12, 2006 in Norfolk, Va. and won 82-56 in Atlanta in the regular season finale for both teams.

Senior guard Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen paces State's offense, averaging 14.9 points per game. She is third in rebounding at 5.9 boards per contest and leads the team and the CAA in assists with 6.6 per outing. Freshman forward Danyiell McKeller (Fayetteville, N.C.) is second on the team in scoring and rebounding at 11.6 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Another freshman, guard Tabitha David (Mableton, Ga.), is also averaging in double figures, totaling 11.2 per contest. She is the team's top 3-point threat, connecting at 43 percent from beyond the arc, and leads State with 31 treys.

Sophomore center Marcquitta Head (Conley, Ga.) is Georgia State's top rebounder, collecting 8.9 boards per game; she scores 10.9 points per contest. Guard Brittany Hollins (Columbia, S.C.), is also playing well, holding season averages of 10.0 points, 3.8 rebounds 5.2 assists and 3.4 steals per game.

Guard T.J. Jordan, the reigning CAA co-Player of the Week, leads Old Dominion with 15.6 points per game. She has made 45 three-pointers this season and is shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc. Tiffany Green is the team's leading rebounder at 5.9 boards per outing. She adds 7.2 points per game.
