ATLANTA - (Jan. 23, 2007) ? Georgia State faces off against William & Mary Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Georgia State Sports Arena in an important Colonial Athletic Association contest for both teams. A win over the Tribe (12-6, 4-3 CAA) puts the Panthers (11-7, 3-4 CAA) back in the top half of the CAA standings in no worse than a tie for fifth place.

The contest is the second of three home games for the Panthers, who just finished playing back-to-back overtime contests in the same season for the first time in school history. State is coming off a thrilling double-overtime win at UNC Wilmington on Jan. 18 and an overtime loss at home to Va. Commonwealth on Jan. 21.
William & Mary leads the all-time series 2-1, having met Georgia State for the first time last season. The Tribe swept the Panthers at home and on the road during the regular season last year, but State rebounded with an upset victory over fifth-seeded W&M in the first round of the 2006 CAA Tournament.
Georgia State is looking to snap a two-game skid at home after starting the year 5-0 in the confines of the Sports Arena. The Panthers are 1-2 at home against conference opponents. William & Mary, winners of eight of their last 10, is 5-5 on the road and 1-2 at opposing conference venues.
Senior guard Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen, the reigning CAA co-Player of the Week, paces Georgia State's offense, averaging 16.8 points per game after posting back-to-back 30-plus-point outings. She is third in rebounding at 5.8 boards per contest and leads the team and the CAA and is third nationally in assists with 6.6 per outing. Freshman forward Danyiell McKeller (Fayetteville, N.C.) is third on the team in scoring and second in rebounding at 10.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg, respectively. Another freshman, guard Tabitha David (Mableton, Ga.), is also averaging in double figures, ranking second with 10.6 per contest. She is the team's top 3-point threat, connecting at 39 percent from beyond the arc, and leads State with 38 treys.
Sophomore center Marcquitta Head (Conley, Ga.) is Georgia State's top rebounder, collecting 8.7 boards per game; she scores 10.0 points per contest. Guard Brittany Hollins (Columbia, S.C.), is also playing well, holding season averages of 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds 5.2 assists and 3.6 steals per game. Hollins, who leads the team and the CAA in steals per game, is ranked fifth in the nation in that category.
Kyra Kaylor, the 2005-06 CAA Player of the Year, is William & Mary's top scorer and rebounder with averages of 13.7 ppg and 9.0 rpg, respectively. Dani Kell (12.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and Devin James (12.1 ppg, 7.0 rpg) also provide help offensively. Tiffany Benson (5.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg) is the Tribe's top shot blocker (41).
