Panthers Complete Road Swing at JSU

ATLANTA ? Georgia State's women's basketball team (1-3) will complete its historic five-game road swing to open the regular season when the Panthers head to Jacksonville, Ala. Saturday to take on Jacksonville State (3-2) at 6 p.m. EST (5 p.m. local).

 

Georgia State will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season after topping Norfolk State 91-70 on Tuesday. The Panthers, who are 1-3 on the road, take on a JSU squad that is 2-0 at home thus far and shooting over 50 percent from the field in its two games at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

 

Freshman forward Danyiell McKeller (Fayetteville, N.C.) paces State's offense, averaging 16.0 points per game. She is second in rebounding at 7.0 boards per contest. Senior guard Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen (St. Petersburg, Fla.) averages 14.0 ppg and 4.8 rebounds per outing while leading the team in assists (22). Freshman forward RaShay Rawls (Augusta, Ga.) is the Panthers' top rebounder at 8.0 rpg. She also averages 5.0 ppg. Freshman guard Tabitha David (Mableton, Ga.) is also averaging double figures in points (12.0 ppg) entering Saturday's contest.

 

The game will be broadcast in tape-delay over the internet at www.wras.org and on WRAS-FM (88.5) in Atlanta following the conclusion of the men's game at Charlotte, which tips at 7 p.m. Fans who wish to watch the game live can tune in through www.ovcsports.tv.
