Hit .550 or better in three matches on the year, including a .643 performance against Wyoming at the Cowgirl Classic Sep. 9... Finished third in the CAA with 4.00 points per set and fourth with 3.33 kills per set... Racked up double-digit kills in 21 of 28 matches played, including final nine outings of career... Opened the season by claiming all-tournament honors at the Memphis Invitational, piling up 53 kills in four matches... Earned CAA Player of the Week honors a school-record fourth time Oct. 31 after matching a career high with 23 kills against George Mason Oct. 28 and following it up with 14 against James Madison Oct. 30 in hitting .515 overall with eight total blocks... 2010: Turned in tremendous junior year, earning All-CAA first team honors and the school's first conference volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award...Became just the second Panther to earn first team All-CAA accolades...Earned two CAA Offensive Player of the Week awards...Earned first scroll after being named the MVP of the GSU Invitational after notching 49 kills for a 3.50 kills per set average, while hitting .352 in victories over Morehead State, North Florida and Wright State...Earned second accolade after producing 47 kills, 13 total blocks and five service aces in victories over Delaware and Towson to open the home CAA schedule...Led the CAA during the regular season in kills (372), kills per set (3.38), points (460.5) and points per set (4.19)...Also finished fifth in blocks (112) and blocks per set (1.02)...93 block assists are tied for 10th all-time in GSU history for a single season...Produced 20 double-digit kill efforts on the season...Opened year with a career-high 23 digs against Morehead State in a 3-2 victory...Had 21 in a 3-2 victory over William and Mary...Had 19 each in victories over Wright State, UNC Wilmington and James Madison...Had eight block assists in a 3-0 victory over Florida A&M...Had three service aces each against Towson and Hofstra...Had a season-high seven digs to close the season against Delaware...Also performed admirably off the court as well, earning a spot on the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Third Team after sporting a 3.78 overall GPA in public policy.
2009: In her first year at Georgia State, finished second on the team with 258 kills, a 2.35 kills per set average, while leading the team with 69 total blocks, an 0.80 per set average and a .282 hitting percentage...Named to three all-tournament teams during the season, leading the Panthers to the titles at the Great 8 Volleyball Challenge as well as the Elon Invitational, while also being named to the all-tournament team of the Illinois-Chicago Invitational...Earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors following a 15-kill performance against Kennesaw State (9/22) and a 16-kill, four-block performance against UNC Wilmington (9/26), both wins for the Panthers...The 16-kill performance against the Seahawks was a career-high, while also hitting at a .667 clip, her top mark during the season...Scored double-digit kill performances in 13 matches, while leading the team in blocks in 17 matches...Tied for the team season-high with eight total blocks against Hofstra (11/6)...Earned the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award.
2008 (Michigan State): Started 20 matches for the Spartans, scoring 102 kills and 47 total blocks, the fourth best on the team, while earning a .225 hitting percentage...Top performance of the year came against Florida A&M, scoring seven kills and a .778 hitting percentage with no errors...Finished with nine kills and two blocks against rival Michigan, hitting at a .643 clip...Finished the year playing in 24 matches, earning the Spartans 129 total points.
2007 (Michigan State): Redshirted her freshman season.
Prep: Earned three letters for coach Bob Hurdle at Andover High School...Earned first team all-league and honorable mention all-district honors during senior season...Tallied 196 total blocks and a .369 attack percentage in 2006... Earned first team all-league award during junior campaign...Compiled 172 total blocks and a .350 attack percentage in 200...Also played basketball where she averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game.
Personal: Vineece Florine Verdun is the second oldest of four children to Joseph and Harriette Verdun...She was born on May 18, 1989 in Detroit, Mich...Has an older sister, Corie, younger brother, Joseph, and younger sister Leah... Graduated in December with honors with a degree in public policy.
