Played in all but 12 games for the Panthers, and all but one match...Finished freshman season with 130 kills, 141 digs, 25 total blocks, 30 assists, and 23 aces...Set career high with 12 kills against East Carolina, the most for any Panther in that match (9/18)...Dug up 12 attacks against Georgia Southern to set season high (10/5)...Also had 10 digs against UCF as Georgia State ended the Golden Knights’ 20-match winning streak in conference play (10/22)...Collected five kills in State’s 3-0 sweep of East Tennessee State (10/31)...Had eight kills and nine digs in 3-1 regular-season win over Mercer (11/05), then tallied six kills and seven digs in State’s 3-2 victory over the Bears in the Atlantic Sun Conference quarterfinals (11/19)...Had 166 points in her freshman campaign.

Lettered for three years at Deer Valley High School in Antioch...In her junior and senior seasons for coach Lou Panzella’s Wolverine squad, Levasseur earned Bay Valley Athletic League First-Team honors...In her senior season, she was named BVAL Most Outstanding Front Row Player...For her high school career, Levasseur had 647 kills, 768 digs, 116 aces, 31 blocks, and 68 assists...Named the Contra Costa Times “Star of the Week” for October 30, 2003...Also an active club player, Levasseur played most recently for the Golden Bear Forefront 18’s club team in the Northern California Volleyball Association...Her Golden Bear squad finished in 13th place at the Junior Olympics...A well-rounded student who earned a STAR Testing Governor’s Scholarship and was also on the honor roll at Deer Valley.
Personal
Marissa is the daughter of Michael and Nuhad Levasseur...She has two older brothers (Jason - 26; Justin - 25) and a younger sister (Hillary - 15)...Brother Justin played collegiate football at the University of Arizona, lining up at tight end...Marissa chose to come to Georgia State in part because of the school’s journalism program.
