Biography


OVERVIEW:

Played in 40 games with 15 starts in three years...Scored in double figures in four games...Made 18 three-point baskets...Has 125 assists in career...Has 13 games with 5 or more assists...Scored 155 career points.

Suffered knee injury after five games of junior season and underwent surgery.

Signed with the program in November during the 2005 early signing period...Skilled point guard... Talented and athletic player... Can score in the open floor... Excellent play-maker.

2008-09:

Played in first five games of seasons, logging 44 minutes.

Injured knee making a cut in fifth game of season (12/5) at home vs. Alabama State.. Had knee surgery on Jan. 14.

Played 21 minutes vs. Georgia Tech (11/26), making six assists, two steals and scoring two points.

Saaw 11 minutes of action in win over Presbyterian (12/2) and had five assists and six steals.


2007-08:

Played in 29 of 30 games with 15 starts...Second on team and ninth in CAA with 106 assists (3.66)...Fifth in CAA in assist-turnover ratio (1.43, +32 on 106 assists, 74 turnovers).

Second on team in steals (38, 1.31)...Fifth on team in scoring (124 points, 4.3)...Third on team in three-point baskets (17)...Scored in double figures in four games.

Had first career double-figure effort in game four at North Carolina (11/19) with 11 points (2-of-4 three-point baskets) and seven assists in 31minutes... Followed UNC game with 10 points in win over Jacksonville State (11/24) with 2-of-4 three-pointers...Produced 12-point game at Alabama State (12/7) with a pair of treys to give her double figures in three of four games.

Scored career-high 18 points at Northeastern (2/24) with 70 percent from field (7-of-10 FG) and personal-best 4-of-6 three-point baskets. Also had eight assists at Northeastern...Produced personal-best nine assists at Towson (3/2)...Had seven assists and six points at VCU (1/13).

Had personal-best seven steals to go with five assists in win over George Mason (2/14) as she played all 40 minutes...Scored eight points with six assists in win at Delaware and made 5-of-6 free throws to help seal the win...Had three games with five rebounds (Gardner-Webb, Alabama State and at Towson).

2006-07:

Saw action in six games, playing 15 minutes... Totaled seven points, three assists and two rebounds... Shot 33.3 percent from the floor and 100 percent from the free throw line.

Was 50 percent from three-point range... Recorded two steals and one blocked shot... Appeared in two CAA games, collecting four points, one steal and one assist in five minutes... Registered season-highs in points (3), steals (1), blocked shots (1), assists (2) and minutes (4) against Savannah State (12/9/06)... Collected two points each versus Northeastern (1/4/07) and Towson (2/11/07).

HIGH SCHOOL:


Three-year varsity letterwinner for head coach Randy McClure and the Campbell Spartans... Ranked by Roundball Journal as the sixth best point guard in the Southeast heading into the 2005-06 season..

Averaged 13 points and eight assists per game as a junior... Selected the Marietta Daily Journal Player of the Week... Garnered several team awards for assists and defense.

Career averages of 16.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 4.6 steals...Selected second-team All-Cobb County in 2004-05.. Also earned two varsity letters in softball.

She played at Campbell while current Georgia State men’s All_CAA guard Leonard Mendez was leading the Spartan’s men’s team.

Full name is Monica LaTrice Mann... Born Oct. 5, 1987... Daughter of Towanna Hall... Has one older brother, Gary, and two older sisters, Catherine and Tenea.

Several family members have played or are playing sports, including cousin Sherrill Baker who is a member of the WNBA’s New York Liberty...

Enjoys drawing and art....Favorite teams are the NBA Atlanta Hawks, NFL Atlanta Falcons and MLB Atlanta Braves... NBA’s Rashad McCants is the person who inspires her the most in sports... Aspires to play basketball on the highest level.

Chose Georgia State because of its academic reputation, basketball tradition and because i is near her home and her biggest fans (her family)... Major is psychology.
