Biography


Kristen Wilkey returns for he second season with the Georgia State program in 2009 as the Head Athletic Trainer. While helping in a variety of areas in the athletic department, Wilkey was also the trainer for the women's tennis team that earned their NCAA tournament bid in the spring.

Wilkey is a certified athletic trainer, an approved clinical instructor, a certified orthopaedic technician and is CPR and AED certified.

A graduate of Southeast Missouri State, Kristen earned her degree in 2003 in health management. She earned her master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State in 2005 in sport management.

She gained experience as a graduate assistant trainer at MTSU, as an athletic trainer for the National Indoor Football League Montgomery (Ala.) Maulers, as the head athletic trainer at Robert E. Lee High in Montgomery, as an assistant on the medical staff at Rehab Associates for Huntingdon College and most recently as the director of physical rehabilitation at the Gwinnett Health Centers in Duluth, Ga. She was a professor at Huntingdon and taught first aid, CPR and Intro to Athletic Training.

She was the host athletic trainer for the 2007 SEC gymnastic championships.

Wilkey is a native of Festus, Mo, a town about 30 miles down the Mississippi River south of St. Louis.
