Johnson has led the CAA in assists for two years , while ranking eighth in the league in steals as a freshman and third in the CAA in steals as a sophomore. She has also been among the CAA leaders in minutes played both years, logging well more than 1,000 both seasons.
She posted the fifth most assists in school history in a single season (166) as a freshman and had the seventh most (161) as a sophomore...Her 337 career assists already rank seventh in school history...Has finished in the top 25 in the NCAA in assists both years (20th as a freshman, 21st as a sophomore).
Had 61 steals as a freshman and upped that to 75 as a sophomore. The 75 are sixth most in a season in school history.
She has 462 points in two years (7.7) and has 18 double-figure scoring games, four double-figure assist games and one double-figure rebound game.
Picked to the CAA All-Rookie team after being a three-time CAA Player of the Week..Logged a team-high 1,054 minutes on the season, starting all 30 games and led the team again as a sophomore with 1,110 minutes.

2009-10:
Her 161 assists (5.4) led the CAA again (No. 21 NCAA) and her assist-turnover was No. 2 in the CAA (No. 43 NCAA) with a +68 on the season...She had 4 or more assists in 21 of the 30 games.
Her 75 steals were the most in the CAA in the regular season and finished third most overall and in average (2.5)..Her minutes played (1,110, 37.5 per game were third in the CAA).
Johnson scored 220 points (7.3) to finish sixth on the squad with seven games in double-figure scoring.
One of her season highlights was producing a triple-double game (one of just four in school history) with 12 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a win over William and Mary (2/7).
Her season-high scoring games were 15 points against Northeastern in the CAA Tourney (3/11) and 15 in the win over Murray State (11/27).
In addition to her 11 assists vs. William and Mary, she had 11 assists vs. UNC Wilmington (1/3) to tie her career best from the year before...She had 10 assists in the win over Troy (11/28), as well as three 9-assist games vs. Towson (1/17), at George Mason (1/28) and Drexel (2/25).
The defensive thief had a pair of 6-steal games to tie her personal best with six each against UNC Wilmington (1/3) and at VCU (1/31)...For the season, she had nine games with four or more steals.
She was named to the All-Tournament teams in both Georgia State's Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday tournaments.
2008-09:
Earning a starting role as a rookie, Johnson responded by lead ing the entire CAA in assists (166, 5.53) per game)...Had four or more assists in 27 of the 30 games and seven or more assists in 10 or more games.
Johnson ranked 20th in the NCAA in assists with the fifth-highest total in a season in school history...Season best total was 11 assists in the win over Northeastern (1/8), one week after nine assists in the win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12/30).
Logged a team-high 1,054 minutes to rank 4th in the CAA... Played all 40 minutes of seven games, 39 minutes of three more games.
Named to CAA All-Rookie team with fourth most votes...Named CAA Player of the Week on Nov. 24, Jan. 12 and Feb. 2.
Ranked 3rd in CAA in assist/turnover ratio and had a +49 with her 166 assists and 117 turnovers...Ranked 8th in CAA in steals (61) as Panthers were only team in league with three players with 60 or more.
Finished fifth on team in scoring with 242 points (8.1 per game) and 11 games in double figures... Shot 71.6% from free throw line to rank 13th in CAA with most made on team (86-for-116).
Took control of game in school’s first-ever win over Old Dominion (1/29) by scoring all 21 of her points in the second half on 7-of-10 field goals and 7-of-9 free throws, while making four assists and three steals.
In first game as collegian, played 38 minutes and scored 11 points in the Panthers opening-day win at Clemson (11/22)...Added four assists and five steals in that win...Made two clutch free throws with 36 seconds left to seal the Clemson game.
Produced a 15-point game in win over Mississippi Valley State (12/29) by going 4-of-7 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line with six assists...Had a 19-point night at Towson (1/22) with 6-of-9 field goals and 7-of-7 free throws to go with eight assists.
Just missed double-double at George Mason (2/8) with 12 points, personal-best 9 rebounds and five assists...Had 12 points (5-of-6 FG), seven assists in near-upset of James Madison (2/22)...Added 11 points and seven assists in games at first-place Drexel (1/15) and at William and Mary (2/1).
Stepped up at end of Delaware game (1/11) with six straight points in the final five minutes en route to 11 points in that win.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Versatile athlete who was named first-team 3A all-state for three consecutive years as well as three-time all-area honoree for north Florida.
Led the Blue Wave of P. K. Yonge High and Coach Willie Powers to 26-4 record in 2007-08 and three straight 20-plus win seasons during career...Team advanced to Final Four her final three years.
Heading into senior campaign was listed as the 16th best overall player in Florida in all classifications by HoopGurlz... Was a nominee for the McDonald’s All-America squad.
As senior, averaged 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals per game for a team ranked number three in the state... During the 16-team Perry and Mark McGriff State Farm December Holiday Tournament, Johnson was Most Valuable Player after games of 27, 25 and 23 points. In the 25-point game, she stepped up with 23 in the second half and in the 23-point game, she produced 17 in the second half.
Her final high school game was in the state semi-finals where she scored a team-best 16 points, inals where she scored a team-best 16 points, and grabbed eight rebounds in a 57-50 game.
Johnson led her team with a 21-point game when they beat Lake Highland Prep for the Region title and led the team with 23 points in the district title win over Williston.
Scored a career-best 34 points in a 61-47 win over Lake Butler. It was 56 percent of her team’s points.
Played AAU ball with Essence International team out of Tallahassee that won the Nike Nationals in the fall of 2007.
Her high school coach noted “She is capable of scoring 30 points a game, but is unselfish and gives up personal numbers for team victories.”
A highly-sought prospect, Johnson also received interest from Florida State, University of South Florida, Saint Joseph’s and Central Michigan.

Full name is Crystal Maranda Danielle Johnson... Born Dec. 23, 1989 in Gainesville, Fla... Parents are Lopez (step-father, a correctional officer) and Janice Nelson.
Has one older brother, James Hobdy, who played guard at P.K. Yonge High and helped teach Crystal basketball.
Mom works in a library and helped stress the importance of education as Crystal won a Scholar-Athlete of the Week award.
Enjoys the challenge of playing XBox 360...Grew up a basketball fan of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant... Favorite teams are the Los Angeles Lakers and Georgia State Panthers.
Chose Georgia State because of respect for the coaching staff and a chance to contribute immediately to the program...Major is sociology.
