After a successful multi-year professional career in the Euro League, capped off by the Arab 2019 Champions with Beirut Club, Theresa Ekhelar decided to further her coaching and education by joining Georgia State in June of 2021. She is currently a Graduate Assistant for the women's basketball team with a concentration in player development.
Prior to her professional career Theresa had a successful collegiate career that included stops at The Ohio State University and finished up at West Virginia University. Ekhelar earned a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with specializations in Advertising/Entertainment Media/Sports Communications.
She was a two-year letter winner with the Buckeyes prior to transferring to West Virginia where she started in 28 games as a senior and earning Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll in 2017-18 and first team All-Big 12 Academic Team in 2018-19 respectively.
She is the daughter to Paul and Ester and sister to David and Alloysius.
