Oscar Bellfield

Oscar Bellfield was named an assistant coach for the Georgia State Panthers women's basketball program in May 2026 under head coach Marcilina Grayer. 

Bellfield arrives in Atlanta following two seasons at Salt Lake Community College, where he served as an assistant coach for the Bruins men’s basketball program under head coach Dave Rice. During his time at SLCC, Bellfield played a key role in player development, recruiting and on-court coaching as the Bruins continued their tradition of developing high-level talent and preparing student-athletes for the next level. 

Prior to joining SLCC in 2024, Bellfield spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Los Angeles Valley College from 2021-24, where he focused on player development and recruiting. Before his collegiate coaching career, Bellfield served as a varsity assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at Westchester High School, helping guide the Comets to the 2020 CIF City Championship. 

A native of Los Angeles, California, Bellfield was a standout point guard at UNLV from 2008-12. A four-year starter for the Runnin’ Rebels, he helped lead the program to three NCAA Tournament appearances while finishing among the school’s all-time leaders in assists. Bellfield earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies from UNLV. 

Following his collegiate career, Bellfield played professionally after signing with the New York Knicks organization and the Erie BayHawks. He later spent five seasons playing internationally, highlighted by leading the Cherkasy Mavpy to the 2018 Ukrainian Basketball Championship.
