Became eligible second semester of 2011-12 after her full year of transfer from East Carolina as she attended that college her first semester of the 2010-11 season...Played final 21 games of season with Georgia State.
2011-12
Played in 21 games as a freshman, starting seven, after becoming eligible for the game on Dec. 16 vs. Georgia Tech (12 minutes, 3 points, 3 rebounds).
Logged 296 minutes for Panthers, scoring 101 points (4.8 per game), while grabbing 75 rebounds (3.6)...Added 14 blocked shots...Shot 47.6% from the field for the season.
Named CAA Freshman of the Week on Dec. 27.
Season-high scoring game was 15 points against Old Dominion (1-19-12) when she made 7-of-7 field goals to go with four blocks and four rebounds. She did that in 21 minutes of action.
Had first double-double of college career with 11 points and 11 rebounds at James Madison (1-26-12) in season-high 24 minutes...Had nine offensive boards in that game.
First career double-figure scoring game was in the Bahamas SunSplash Shootout against 20-win High Point when she had 10 points (4-of-6) in 17 minutes...Her other double-figure game came at Northeastern when she scored 12 points in her 18 minutes with 5-of-8 field goals.
2010-11
Coming out of Class 4A Reagan High School iSen Pfafftown, N.C., Beroth was a Top 100 state of North Carolina prospect (No. 64 on that list).
She averaged double-double points and rebounds her final two seasons in high school in the Winston-Salem area.
Her strong inside game allowed her to produce multiple double-double games in scoring and rebounding for the Reagan Lady Raiders.
She also manufactured a pair of triple-double games when she also had double-digit blocks to go with her scoring and rebounding.
Alana had a career-best 27-point scoring night against rival Mount Tabor in Winston-Salem...She had a 12-blocked shot game against Carver High.
Beroth was an all-state pick as a senior and was an all-conference first team pick as both a junior and a senior. She was chosen to participate in the East-West All-Star game.
She played with the AAU Lady Phoenix Elite team in the Delaney Rudd North Carolina Basketball Academy. Alana began playing AAU ball when she was 11 and continued to develop in the summers with those teams..
Beroth originally signed in high school with Coach Baldwin-Tener at East Carolina.
Beroth left ECU in November of 2010 and enrolled at Georgia State for classes in January, 2011. That allowed her to work with the Panthers during the second half of the 2010-11 season.
PREP
Alana Brittany Beroth is the youngest daughter of Rick and Melanie Beroth and was born April 3, 1992... A middle child, Alana has an older sister, Brooke, and a younger brother, Ben.
Height is a family trait with dad standing 6-foot-4 and mom at 5-foot-10. Brother Ben is 6-foot-5 and would compete often with Alana in the driveway big games for family bragging rights.
Her father helped get her and her brother started in community league basketball at an early age. Alana played in co-ed summer leagues with her brother, improving her skill set along the way.
Alana enjoys studying people and their habits and traits and expects to major in psychology at GSU and perhaps move on to earn a more specific master's in that field. of study.
