Biography
AT GEORGIA STATE:
Point guard with good size and athletic ability . . . A vocal player who looks to pass rather than shoot . . . Tough and hard-nosed . . . Works hard on defense . . . Good rebounder.
2007-08:
Freshman who started 18 games at point guard before moving to a backup role for the last six games of the season . . . Led the team with 47 steals (7th in CAA) . . . Averaged 3.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Had his most productive offensive game in the second half of the season with eight points off the bench against Jacksonville State (2/23). Also had five rebounds and two assists with no turnovers.
Scored nine points, his season high, against Winston-Salem State (12/8); equalled that with nine points against Bethune-Cookman (12/29) and against William & Mary (1/12) . . . Had five or more rebounds in eight games, with a high of six against Troy (11/24), Drexel (1/16) and Old Dominion (2/2).
Handed out nine assists against Georgia Tech (12/5), more than any Georgia State player since the 2005-06 season . . . Added seven assists in overtime loss to VCU (2/6).
Made a key basket in State’s one-point win at Delaware (1/26), rebounding his own miss and putting it back in to put the Panthers ahead for good with 3:56 to play.
Hit game-clinching free throws with six seconds left in win over Troy (11/24). Had six points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots in the game.
Contributed key plays to seal win at Jacksonville (11/28). With State leading by three with 14 seconds left, he rebounded Rashad Chase’s missed free throw, got fouled, and hit a free throw for a four-point lead
Handed out five assists while scoring two points in his first collegiate game against UAB (11/10). His basket brought the Panthers within four points with eight minutes to play.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Led Wilkinson County High in Irwinton, Ga., to the 2007 Class A state title as a senior . . . Most Valuable Player for team that posted a 31-1 record and spent much of the season as the No. 1-ranked team in the state . . . Helped Wilkinson County to two victories over nationally-ranked teams.
Averaged 11 points, eight assists and four steals per game as a senior . . . Honorable mention all-state selection by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution . . . Earned all-Middle Georgia honors from the Macon Telegraph . . . All-region selection . . . Coached by Aaron Jeter.
Scored 13 points in the state championship game as Wilkinson County defeated Whitefield Academy, 79-75 in overtime, at the Macon Centreplex . . . Rebounded his own missed free throw with six seconds left overtime, then made another free throw to seal the victory . . . Previously played for Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Ga.
