Matt Brennan joined the Georgia State football staff in the spring of 2023 as Director of High School Relations.

An Atlanta-area native and former high school coach in Georgia, Brennan spent three years on the staff at Georgia Southern (2016-19), including his final two years as Director of Player Personnel after one year in a special teams and defensive quality control role.

Brennan was a high school coach in the state of Georgia for 11 years, all at Woodward Academy in College Park, his alma mater. Serving as defensive line coach and co-special teams coordinator, he helped Woodward qualify for the state playoffs in every year and advance past the first round in every year but one, including two region championships and two appearances in the Class AAAA state semifinal appearances in 2014 and 2015. 

Brennan helped more than 40 Woodward student-ahtletes go on to play college football, including 16 of his defensive linemen. Three of his former players - Juwan Thompson (Denver Broncos), Henry Anderson (Indianapolis Colts) and Andrew Adams (New York Giants) - went on to play in the NFL.

Originally from Tucker, Ga., Brennan was a three-year letter winner at Woodward Academy as a student-athlete and earned his degree from Troy University in sports management.
