Lexee Marshall

Lexee Marshall is the first full-time assistant coach in Georgia State volleyball history. Hired in June 2006, Marshall joined Georgia State after working as an assistant coach for two different schools.

Marshall's collegiate volleyball career began at the University of Alabama, where she was a four-year letterwinner under head coach Judy Green. Marshall received the team's MTXE (mental toughness extra effort) Award in 1999, and also received Academic All-Southeastern Conference honors in 2002, her senior season. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Child Development at Alabama in December of that same year, Marshall began her collegiate coaching career at Belmont University as a graduate assistant coach under Deane Webb in 2003. During her two seasons on the bench at Belmont, the Bruins improved dramatically, advancin to the A-Sun Championships for the first time in 2004 and reaching the championship match. During that 2004 season, the Bruins tied for second in the A-Sun with Georgia State.

After receiving her Master's degree at Belmont in Sports Administration, Marshall took an assistant coaching position at Middle Tennessee State. During her one season at MTSU, the Blue Raiders improved to 28-4, setting the school record for winning percentage with .875. That season, the Blue Raiders made their first-ever appearance in the Sun Belt Conference tournament finals.

Marshall also has coached volleyball at the club level, most notably for the Tuscaloosa Volleyball Club since her playing career closed at Alabama. Marshall also taught a volleyball class at MTSU since April 2005, teaching a minimum of two courses per semester on the Murfreesboro campus.
