Ben Martin

Ben Martin joined the Georgia State sports medicine staff in 2026 and serves as an athletic trainer for the Panthers football program.

A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Martin came to Georgia State after serving on the sports medicine staff at the University of South Carolina, where he provided athletic training coverage for the Gamecocks football program.

Before his time at South Carolina, Martin gained valuable experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. He served as an assistant athletic trainer for the Houston Roughnecks of the United Football League (UFL) after completing a seasonal athletic training internship with the Atlanta Falcons. Earlier in his career, he worked as a summer athletic training intern with the Houston Texans before returning to Western Carolina University, where he provided athletic training services for the football and tennis programs.

Martin began his Georgia State tenure as the athletic trainer for the Panthers' track and field program before transitioning to football.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in athletic training from Western Carolina University.
