Biography

Overview: A mentally and physically tough pitcher who rose to the top of the State depth chart in ‘06.

2006: Became team’s top starter late in the season, compiling a 6-3 record with a 5.82 ERA...Led team in wins and innings pitched (86.2), while also topping the Panthers staff in complete games with four...Won first two decisions of Georgia State career (Albany - 2/16; Wofford - 3/1)...Went 7.1 innings giving up just two runs and fanning seven in win over Hofstra (3/26)...Pitched all nine innings in a game delayed halfway through for 90 minutes by rain, giving up only four runs in 9-4 victory over eventual CAA Champion UNC Wilmington (4/22)...Won in a complete-game effort over William & Mary in game that clinched State’s spot in the the CAA Championships (5/19).

2004-2005: Compton pitched two seasons for the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College...Compiled an 11-2 record in two years at YHC and had an ERA of 2.29 his sophomore season...His team won the Conference Championship in 2004 and the State Championship in 2005.

Prep: Compton earned three letters playing baseball for Tony Long’s Bulldogs at Forsyth Central High School.
Personal: Jeramy was born on April 28, 1985 in Marietta, Georgia...He is the son of Dean and Alison Compton and has one younger brother, Matthew.
