Started season as platoon player in left field, but worked his way into the starting lineup and started 14 of the final 19 games ... Went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored against Jackson State (2/23) ... Singled twice while driving in a run and scoring once against George Mason (3/16) ... Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored against Northeastern (3/29) ... Doubled twice while scoring once and driving in a run against Samford (4/2) ... Started 22 games in left field, and made 10 other starts in the outfield ... Drove in two runs with a pair of singles and scored a run against Mississippi Valley State (3/3) ... Scored two runs and drove in another against Furman (3/7) ... Doubled and drove in a run against William and Mary (4/8) ... Went 2-for-4 against VCU (4/14) ... Brought home a pair of runs with two singles against Georgia Southern (4/25) ... Scored three runs on two walks and stole a base against Hofstra (5/4) ... Drove in a run and scored a run while going 2-for-3 against Jacksonville State (5/8).

2006
Made first collegiate start in second game of doubleheader against Albany, and singled while scoring a run and stealing two bases (2/16) ... Went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored in win over Wofford (3/1) ... Doubled twice and scored a run while going 2-for-3 against College of Charleston (3/5) ... Went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI against Old Dominion (3/17).

2005
Received medical hardship waiver while recovering from a spinal injury sustained while playing high school football.

Prep
A four-year letterman and three-time All-Fayette County honoree at Sandy Creek High School ... Also the starting quarterback and captain of the football team, where he was awarded the Coca-Cola/Powerade Golden Helmet Award as a senior.

Personal
Born on Feb. 16, 1986, in East Point, Ga., to Butch and Jan Loretta Bennett ... His older brother Rusty was a standout for the Panthers and currently is the head coach at Decatur High School.
