Biography

AT GEORGIA STATE:  Two-year starter in the outfield, primarily in left field ... Right-handed hitter with a career average of .297, along with 11 home runs and 51 RBI ... Transferred to GSU from Chipola College ... Made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters.

2014: Played in every game, starting in left or center field ... Hit .282 with 22 RBI ... Fourth on the team with five home runs ... Also contributed 14 doubles and two triples ... Led the squad with 10 stolen bases.

Smashed the game-winning home run in GSU’s 6-4 win at Ole Miss as his two-run blast in the seventh inning turned a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 lead. Also tripled in a run in the fifth inning and singled in the game ... Hit solo homer in seventh inning in 8-6 win over Troy (3-28-14) ... In GSU’s 3-2 win at Georgia, he began seventh-inning rally with leadoff single.

Hit .538 (7-for-13) and slugged .846 in the opening series against Illinois with one homer and seven RBI. In Friday game, he led off the 7th with a single, then came around to score to pull GSU within 4-2. One inning later, he delivered a two-out, run-scoring single cut deficit to 4-3. In the 10th, he was intentionally walked to load the bases to set up Greg Bowder’s game-winning, walk-off hit. In Saturday’s loss his three-run homer capped a five-run sixth inning that brought GSU within 11-10 before the Panthers eventually fell 19-13. In Sunday’s series clinching win, his eighth-inning, three-run double provided key insurance runs.

Hit his fourth homer of the season and drove in two runs in win over Savannah State (4-23-14) ... Added a two-run blast in the eighth inning of GSU’s 5-1 win over Arkansas State (4-25-14).

2013: Starting left fielder who batted .313 with 29 RBI ... Third on the team with six home runs ... Also had 12 doubles and one triple ... Contributed three homers and 11 RBI in the last seven games of the season ... Second on the team with 25 walks ... Recorded 17 multi-hit games, including five contests with three hits.

Had two homers and eight RBI in the Hofstra series ... Drove in a career-high four runs in the Friday night win (5-10-13), including a three-run homer in GSU’s six-run eighth inning ...  Added a solo homer Saturday vs. Hofstra (5-11-13) ... Had three hits including a three-run homer in the seventh inning to lead GSU to an 8-3 win over Towson (5-5-13) ...  Went 7-for-13 in the Towson series sweep with four runs and four RBI.

Blasted a two-run homer in the fifth inning against Georgia (2-26-13) to give GSU its first lead in a game the Panthers eventually won 10-7 ... Three games later in win over Boston College (3-3-13) he hit another two-run homer in the third inning to put the Panthers ahead and on their way to a 7-6 victory ... Also hit a homer on Opening Day against Butler.

2012 (Chipola College): Played one season at Chipola College ... Hit .282 in 53 games with nine doubles, one homer and 22 RBI in 2012 ... Stole nine bases in 13 attempts.

2011 (Georgia Tech): Began his college career at Georgia Tech ... Played in six games as a freshman in 2011 but had just two at-bats.

HIGH SCHOOL: Selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 47th round of the 2010 MLB Draft ... A three-year letterwinner at Sandy Creek High School for head coach Eddie Householder ... Rated the No. 17 prospect in Georgia and No. 126 in the nation according to Perfect Game Crosschecker ... 2010 third-team Rawlings/Perfect Game High School Senior Preseason All-America ... First team all-county selection sophomore and junior seasons... Was a member of the MGBA Braves club team where he helped lead the team to a AAU Junior Olympics Championship.
