BOONE, N.C. -- Georgia State lost to App State 1-0 Friday on the road at Appalachian Soccer Stadium.
The loss dropped Georgia State's record to 5-3-1 overall and 0-1-0 in Sun Belt play.
How it Happened
The game remained scoreless in the first half, thanks to four saves from junior goalkeeper Alondra Iriarte and a save from App State's Hanna Skogsfors.
In the 48th minute, the Mountaineers finally broke through, as Ellie Garrison found the back of the net. The Panthers would be held scoreless, not recording a shot in the second half.
Iriarte stood tall in goal, recording seven saves and sophomore forward Abby Batts recorded the Panthers lone shot on goal for the game.
The Panthers look to bounce back at home against rival Georgia Southern on Thursday, Sep. 24 at 7 p.m. ET.
