Georgia State Opens Road Play Against UAB

ATLANTA – After securing the win in their season opener, the Panthers look to continue their success when they hit the road to face UAB in Birmingham, Ala. at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25.
 
SERIES HISTORY 
Georgia State has maintained the lead in the all-time series against UAB, posting a 7–2–2 record across 11 meetings since 2010. The Panthers have shown their ability to earn results on the road against the Blazers with two victories and one draw. The series is evenly contested after GSU won 1-0 in Atlanta in 2025 and UAB took the 1-0 match in Birmingham in 2024. Prior to that, the Panthers claimed five straight victories from 2019 to 2023.
 
SETTING THE TONE AT HOME
The Panthers won 2-1 over USC-Upstate last Thursday, August 20. David Martin-Jorge scored GSU's first goal of the season with an assist by Kenny Yedmel and Virgil Dall'Agnol. Pavel Romero-Garmendia delivered the game winning goal in the 39th minute to break the tie and secure the first victory of the season.

Georgia State is ranked first in the Sunbelt in saves per game and shots on goal per game.
 
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
UAB comes into the game 0-0-1 on the season, led by Head Coach David Lilly in his third year. The Blazers opened their season last Thursday on Aug. 20, playing Lipscomb to a 1-1 draw.
