ATLANTA — Georgia State scored four times in the opening 30 minutes and cruised to a 7-0 Senior Night victory over Truett-McConnell on Sunday at the GSU Soccer Complex.
The Panthers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as
Hina Suzuki found the net just 51 seconds into the match.
Aaliyah Faddoul doubled the lead with a penalty-kick goal in the 11th minute before scoring again in the 16th minute to give Georgia State a 3-0 advantage.
Gabriela Gonzalez added Georgia State's fourth goal in the 30th minute, sending the Panthers into halftime with a four-goal cushion.
Georgia State continued to control the match after the break.
Sunniyah Tucker scored in the 52nd minute off an assist from
Jasmine Lim to make it 5-0. Faddoul completed her hat trick in the 74th minute, and Gonzalez added her second goal of the match in the 88th minute on an assist from
Bailey Vinette to cap the scoring.
Faddoul led the Panthers with three goals on six shots, including four shots on goal. Gonzalez added two goals on five shots, while Tucker and Suzuki each scored once. Lim and Vinette recorded assists.
Georgia State outshot Truett-McConnell 21-3 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Panthers also held the Bears without a shot on goal.
Alondra Iriarte started in goal for Georgia State and played 66:44 before
Lundyn Michalek finished the match.
The Panthers head back to Alabama to face Samford on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. ET.
