ATLANTA - The Georgia State Panthers gear up for their fifth season in the Sun Belt Conference as Head Coach Brett Surrency announced the 2026 slate on Tuesday morning.

Entering his 17^th season leading the Panthers, Surrency looks to elevate the team past last year's sixth-place finish and add to a resume that includes three NCAA tournament appearances and a Sun Belt Championship.

Georgia State kicks off the season with two exhibition matches, one at Clayton State on Aug. 8 and one at NCAA qualifier Clemson on Aug. 15. This will be the third consecutive season that GSU starts by facing Clayton State and the second facing Clemson in an exhibition game.

After preseason on the road, the Panthers will return to Atlanta to host USC-Upstate for their home opener on August. 20.

GSU will also host West Florida (Aug. 30), Mercer (Sept. 9), UNC-Asheville (Sept.23) and Jacksonville (Oct. 6), and travel to face Lipscomb (Sept. 2), Presbyterian (Sept. 5) and Wofford (Sept. 12), for the remainder of non-conference matchups.

After finalizing the non-conference slate, the Panthers open Sun Belt action on the road against West Virginia on Sept.17.

After opening conference play on the road, Georgia State returns to home turf to host Coastal Carolina on Sept. 27. Following the matchup, they will see action on the road against in-state rivals Georgia Southern on Oct. 2.

The Panthers will take on five more conference opponents throughout the month of October, starting on the road against James Madison on Oct.10. They will return home to Atlanta to host South Carolina on Oct.17 before heading back to Virginia to take on Old Dominion on Oct.21.

GSU will face Marshall at home on Oct. 25 and then travel one last time to take on UCF on Oct.29. They will finish out the season at home against Kentucky on Nov. 2.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins on Nov. 8 and will conclude with the championship on Nov. 15.

Last season, the Sun Belt saw four teams make the NCAA tournament. UCF claimed an automatic bid after clinching the conference championship. Kentucky, West Virginia and Marshall earned spots after finishing top three in the Sun Belt.
