ATLANTA – Georgia State right-hander Will Bartkoski has been named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Bartkoski earned the honor after a dominant performance out of the bullpen in Georgia State's extra-inning win at ULM. He finished the week with a 1-0 record, allowing just two hits and no runs across 8.0 innings while striking out 10.
In the 10-7 victory over the Warhawks, Bartkoski tossed 6.2 shutout innings in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out 10 to earn the win. He entered in the seventh inning and did not allow a run, limiting baserunners and keeping Georgia State in position to complete the comeback in 13 innings.
Bartkoski also added 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in the midweek game at No. 4 Georgia, finishing the week without allowing a run.
Bartkoski becomes the second Panther to earn Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week honors this season, joining Michael Caruso, who earned the award earlier this year.
Georgia State returns to action this week with a midweek matchup against Wofford before continuing Sun Belt play against James Madison this weekend.
