ATLANTA-- Georgia State beach volleyball returns to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament to battle for its fourth consecutive SBC Conference title on April 23-25 in Foley Beach, Ala.
The Sandy Panthers are 6-1 against conference opponents this season, and 4-1 in games that count toward conference standings. In addition to the matches that counted toward the conference record, Georgia State has also defeated Coastal Carolina and UNC-Wilmington.
After finishing second in the Sun Belt, the Sandy Panthers are set to face No. 7 Mercer in match two of the tournament. Georgia State is 20-0 against Mercer, and 1-0 this season. The Sandy Panthers and Bears have met once at the conference tournament, in 2024, when Georgia State defeated Mercer 4-1.
Since its inaugural season in 2013, Georgia State is 75-3 against Sun Belt opponents, with losses against Coastal Carolina (2) and ULM (1).
Three-time reigning Sun Belt Champions, the Sandy Panthers are undefeated in conference tournament play, holding a 12-0 record in the championship tournament. Georgia State has won the conference championship every year since the Sun Belt began sponsoring beach volleyball in 2023.
PRESEASON FAVORITES
Georgia State was selected as the preseason favorite to win the Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship as decided by a vote of the league's eight head coaches. This marks the fourth-consecutive year that the Sandy Panthers have earned the No. 1 spot in the Sun Belt preseason coaches' poll.
The Sandy Panthers were also ranked No. 18 nationally in the AVCA preseason polls.
THE 50 WIN CLUB
Juniors Savannah Ebarb and Michaela Jefferson both earned 50 career wins this season.
Ebarb earned her 50th career win against Florida Atlantic (March 7) after defeating the Ospreys in three sets. She enters the championship tournament with a 62-45 career record.
Jefferson earned her 50th win against Berry (April 10) after defeating the Vikings in straight sets. She enters the championship tournament with a 51-34 career record.
THE SANDY PANTHERS
Since its fist season, Georgia State Beach Volleyball holds a 281-159 record overall.
Th Sandy Panthers have earned four consecutive conference titles (C-USA in 2022, Sun Belt 2023-25), and have seen appearances in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship tournament five times (2016, 2022-25). The team has been ranked in the AVCA National Polls 117 times since the program's inception. The Sandy Panthers earned its first national ranking when the team checked in at No. 9 on March 19, 2014. The team has ranked as high as No. 7 in the polls (2016, 2022).
Head Coach Beth Van Fleet earned her 250th program win last season. She currently stands at 273 career wins.

- The sophomore/junior duo finished 4-1 in conference play, with wins against UNCW (22-20, 16-21, 15-8), ULM (21-10, 21-10), Charleson (21-19, 21-13) and Mercer (21-12, 21-9). They also defeated Coastal Carolina (21-14, 21-15) in a match that did not count toward the conference record.
- They finished the season with a win over No. 14 Stetson at the DeLand Cup on April 18.
Flight 3: Ella Mozeleski & Kealy Dirner
- Ella Mozeleski and Kelay Dirner finished the regular season 13-10, playing primarily at flight three. They have also seen action at flights four and five.
- The pair is 3-1 in conference play, with wins against UNC-Wilmington (21-13-21-15), ULM (21-19, 21-16) and Charleston (21-18, 21-18). They also defeated Coastal Carolina (16-21, 21-17, 15-11) in a match that did not count toward their conference record.
- Dirner and Moezleski earned ranked wins over No. 4 Cal Poly (20-22, 23-21, 15-10), No, 8 Arizona State (21-18, 16-21, 18-16) and No. 18 North Florida (15-21, 21-19, 15-11).
Flight 4: Adeline Thompson & Noalani Nuez
- Noalani Neuz and Adeline Thompson are 9-9 in the season, rotating in the fours and fives. They are 3-4 in flight three and 5-1 in flight four. They have also seen action in flight two.
- Nuez and Thompson are 1-0 in conference action after defeating ULM (21-13, 21-15) in the SBC Mid-Season tournament.
- The freshman/sophomore duo have earned ranked wins over No. 10 Cal (21-16, 22-20) and No. 17 South Carolina (21-13, 16-21, 15-13).
- Nuez has seen action with both Adeline Thompson and Kaebre Sullivan throughout the season. Sullivan medically retired after the final home tournament this season.
Flight 5: Ellie Neville & Kaylie Drysdale
- Ellie Neville and Kaylie Drysdale are 10-7 in the regular season, playing primarily in flight five. They finished the season 8-6 in flight five and 2-1 in flight four.
- The duo is 4-0 in conference action after defeating UNC-Wilmington (21-11, 21-11), Coastal Carolina (21-10, 18-21, 15-10), ULM (21-11, 21-11) and Mercer (15-21, 21-10, 17-15). They also receded a win over UNC_Wilmongotn (21-19, 21-15) that does not count toward their conference record.
