Georgia State drops tough 11-1 matchup to Appalachian State

BOONE, N.C. --The Georgia State Panthers struggled on Saturday, falling to the Appalachian State Mountaineers 11-1 despite the efforts of Maya Bagsby, who went 1 for 1.

Briana Bower (6-7) started and took the loss in the circle for Georgia State (20-16, 2-6).

At the plate, the Panthers were led by Bagsby, who went 1-for-1 on the day with two walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. McKenzie Walker came across to score the lone run of the inning for Georgia State and get them on the board. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Appalachian State scored 11 times over the remaining four innings to grab the 11-1 win.
