Late Comeback Not Enough for Men's Tennis Against South Carolina State

ATLANTA, GA – Georgia State Men's Tennis dropped a non-conference matchup against SWAC opponent South Carolina State on Thursday afternoon, falling by a score of 4-2 at their home facility.

After falling behind 1-0 with a pair of defeats in doubles play, the Panthers looked to stage a comeback in singles. Gustav Andersson made quick work of his opponent on court four, winning in straight sets by identical scores of 6-1 to get the Panthers on the board. Sota Minami joined in on the comeback effort, dropping his counterpart on court six with set victories of 6-1 and 6-3. After battling to a 7-5 victory in set one, Gabriele Datei looked to join his teammates in the win column in a decisive third set, but the point was abandoned as S.C. State had already earned the winning points on courts two, three, and five.
