Men's Tennis Falls to Georgia Southern on the Road

STATESBORO, GA – Georgia State Men's Tennis jumped out to an early lead over their rivals from Georgia Southern, but could not secure the win in singles play as they fell by a final score of 4-2 on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Playing together on first doubles for just the second time this season, Gabriele Datei and Aleksandar Andrin made quick work of their counterparts from Georgia Southern, topping them by a score of 6-2. Cem Atlamis and Sota Minami shut the door on the opening point, winning 6-3 on court two to take the 1-0 lead.

Andrin rounded out a strong day overall in singles play, winning in straight sets on court three, 6-4 and 6-2. He, however, was the only Panther who was able to secure a set win on the day. The Eagles closed out singles play with straight set wins on courts one, two, four, and five to send Georgia State home empty handed.
