Georgia State Travels to West Georgia for Midweek Matchup

ATLANTA - Georgia State heads to Carrollton on Tuesday for a midweek matchup against West Georgia. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Cole Field.

Originally scheduled to be played in Atlanta, the game was moved earlier Monday and will now be played as a West Georgia home game.

Georgia State enters the contest with a 10-11 overall record following the opening weekend of Sun Belt Conference play. West Georgia comes into the matchup 5-15 overall and 3-4 at home this season.

Panthers at the Plate

Georgia State is hitting .253 as a team through 21 games with 128 runs scored and 168 hits on the season.

John Beverley leads the Panthers with a .373 batting average and has added 11 stolen bases while reaching base at a .411 clip. Nick Garagozzo is hitting .286 with six doubles and 15 RBI, while Hunter Carlson leads the team with 23 RBI.

Wills Maginnis has contributed 14 RBI and 10 stolen bases, and Lucas Grantham has added two home runs and nine RBI. Wesley Bass has also provided production in limited opportunities, hitting .333 with a .459 on-base percentage.

Panthers on the Mound

Georgia State's pitching staff carries a 5.93 ERA with 156 strikeouts in 176 innings this season.

Jake Hembree has been one of the Panthers' most effective starters, posting a 3.13 ERA with 25 strikeouts across 23 innings. Tysen Benford holds a 3.38 ERA in four starts, while Brian Crooms leads the team with three wins.

Out of the bullpen, Jacob Crews has been one of the most reliable arms, recording a 1.04 ERA in seven appearances.

Scouting West Georgia

West Georgia enters Tuesday's game hitting .240 as a team with 21 home runs and 97 runs scored through 20 games.

Blake Bradford leads the Wolves with a .340 batting average, while Patrick McCullough is hitting .313 with three home runs and 13 RBI. Former Panther Andon Lewis has also been a key contributor, batting .288 with five home runs and a team-high 22 RBI.
