HUNTSVILLE, AL – Georgia State Women's Tennis had a day to remember on Saturday afternoon, capturing all seven points in a dominant 7-0 victory over their hosts from Alabama A&M.
The Panthers top doubles duo of
Defne Erbakan and
Maria Paredes opened up the day with a 6-3 win on court one.
Lamiss Haouas and
Mia Petrovic secured the doubles point for the Panthers, taking a 6-3 victory of their own on court three to close out doubles play.
In singles play Paredes and
Sara Radojevic continued to shine on courts one and two, respectively, each cruising to straight-set victories. Radojevic was particularly efficient, surrendering just one point in her two set wins.
Erbakan saw some drama on court three, dominating the first set 6-0 before narrowly dropping the second 6-4. She captured a one-point tiebreaker over her counterpart from Alabama A&M to keep the Panthers undefeated on the day.
Sveva Bernardi and Haouas battled to straight-set victories on courts four and five, respectively, while Petrovic battled to a decisive third set win on court six to finish out the shutout victory.
