TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- The Georgia State beach volleyball team finished 2-1 on opening day at the FSU Unconquered, earning wins over North Alabama and UAB before falling to Florida State.

Georgia State opened the day with a 5-0 sweep of North Alabama.
On court one,
Savannah Ebarb and
Bella Troncale defeated Audrey Gauthier and Selma Robinson in straight sets, 21-18, 21-15. The set marked the first career win for the pair, as well as freshman Troncale's first collegiate career win.
At the No. 2 position,
Ellie Neville and
Michaela Jefferson earned a 21-14, 21-19 win over Paige Griner and Sarah Larkin Lewis.
Ella Mozeleski and
Kaylie Drysdale secured the point on court three with a 21-19, 21-14 victory against Hailey Benesz and Lucy Wedding.
On court four, Kealy Dinner and
Kaebre Sullivan dropped the first set 17-21 before rallying to win the next two sets, 21-17 and 16-14, to defeat Jennah Atchley and Brooke Bolden.
Kate Phelan and
Noalani Nuez completed the sweep on court five with a 21-19, 21-13 win over Emma White and Mabrey Whitehead.

Kaylie Drysdale fell on court three to Jessica Horwath and Myriah Massey, 21-9, 21-14.
On court four, Kealy Dinner and
Kaebre Sullivan were defeated by Bailey Higgins and Madison Trusty in straight sets, 23-21, 21-16.
Kate Phelan and
Noalani Nuez fell to Kyleene Filimaua and Mackenzie Hultquist, 21-15, 21-16, on court five.

Georgia State closed the day with a 3-2 win over UAB to finish 2-1 on day one.Â

Michaela Jefferson evened the match with a 21-8, 21-16 victory over Pien Grooters and Virginia Voitier at the No. 2 spot.

Kaylie Drysdale gave GSU its second point on court three, defeating Isabel Day and Ashley Torsone, 21-16, 21-18. Kealy Dinner and
Kaebre Sullivan fell on court four to Lauren Cairo and Claudia Stockard, 21-11, 21-15.
The deciding point came on court five, where
Kate Phelan and
Noalani Nuez earned a 24-22, 25-23 win over Olivia Chycrun and Ava Grace Knott to secure the 3-2 team victory.
The Panthers are slated to face Southeaster Louisiana (9:00 a.m.) and California State-Bakersfield (3:15 p.m.)on Saturday, Feb. 21 to close out the first tournament of the 2026 season.Â
