ATLANTA, Ga. - Matt Taylor has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 15. His five points in two games lifted the Panthers to a 1-0-1 record against UAB and conference foe South Carolina.

Taylor had a hand in all three of the Panthers' critical goals against the Blazers and Gamecocks. At home against UAB, he made the difference on the scoreboard, providing the game-winning goal with under seven minutes to play. In the team's Sun Belt Conference opener, Taylor scored to knot the game at 1-1 and assisted on a late goal to secure the 2-2 draw, salvaging a point in the standings. 

Taylor's five-point week brought his season total to nine, good for best on the team and seventh in the conference. His heroics have helped to lift the team's record over .500 for the first time this season.

Taylor will look to stay hot as his squad hosts non-conference opponent Wofford tonight, Tuesday, September 23 at 6 p.m. The Panthers will host their first conference game on Sunday, September 28, when they take on Old Dominion.
