Panther Family,
Welcome to the start of the 2025-26 athletics season! It's been a busy summer for our coaches, staff and student-athletes. We have many teams already on campus; in fact, our women's soccer team already played an exhibition match, and we welcome everyone else back the weekend of Aug. 23-24.
I appreciate those of you who listened to the podcast with the venerable
Dave Cohen several weeks ago. The House Settlement is certainly the beginning of some major changes to what we all know the college athletic experience to be. I also thank you for your questions that came from the podcast. I hope to answer most in the coming weeks with a series of letters addressed to our stakeholders.Â
One thing I want to stress to everyone.Â

In this, we share very relevant and timely information on events, ticket opportunities, road trips, merchandise and many other fan engagement opportunities for all to participate. The next event occurs this Saturday night with the footballÂ
Blue & White Affair at Center Parc Credit Union Stadium.
With the calendar turning to August, we are actively trying to sell football tickets and renew or create new Panther Athletic Club donors. With the ever-present focus on student-athlete licensing rights, we are also trying to find supporters willing to help with revenue sharing initiatives. It's no secret that we're competing against schools who receive more campus funding than we do, and who have been playing football for many more years than we have; so, we need engaged fans to become engaged ticket buyers, and engaged donors for us to compete in today's world of athletics. So, when you receive a text, email, phone call or see a social media post about buying tickets, please ENGAGE!Â
Do not expect others to buy or contribute if you aren't willing to do likewise. Our coaches, student-athletes and staff work extremely hard to represent us in a positive manner and they deserve our holistic support.
As we prepare for the upcoming football season, we are finalizing several new exciting concepts, three of which I will introduce:
- When we play Murray State at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, we're calling it "Sellout Saturday." To fill Center Parc Credit Union Stadium, every game ticket will be $5. For our season ticket holders, you will receive 4 tickets for every seat you hold. Our simple request is that you use your additional tickets for friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and others to attend the game and experience the best of Georgia State. At just $5, we're thinking some of you might need to order more. We really hope the GSU Family gets behind this effort and fills the stadium in support of our team, and we have a little over one month to make it happen!
- As we finalize plans, we are excited to expand the game day experience. Dr. Blake has pushed for a campus-wide commitment to football game days, and we greatly appreciate his advocacy. We are making changes to the student section and rallying around the narrative of student tailgating being the BEST FREE PARTY IN ATLANTA – free admission, free transportation to-and-from, free music, free entertainment and free gifts.Â
- Borrowing an idea from others, we have worked with our concessions partner to create several value-priced concessions stands and new offerings at the stadium for the season that we think will appeal to students and others.
Lastly, I thank you your positive support of Georgia State Athletics as we are transforming the lives of every young man and woman in our program. We have an incredibly dedicated staff that embodies servant leadership, and it is my pleasure to work with them daily in this pursuit.
As a reminder, here is how you can help (and most importantly the contact information for our staff member tasked with leading):
Â
Provide scholarship support via the Panther Athletic Club. Every private dollar we raise for scholarships allows us to take other revenues and place in the revenue share pool for student-athletes, or invest in capital projects or staff initiatives.
Invest in the Intercollegiate Athletics Fund for Competitive Excellence through the GSU Foundation. Again, these funds allow us to support the operational needs of our program and student-athletes.
Market your business or product(s) via Name, Image and Likeness agreements with our student-athletes via the All Blue All In collective or via Athletics, and our revenue sharing opportunities.
Sponsor and Advertise with GSU
Hire our student-athletes (Internships, Jobs)
Mentor student-athletes
Last, but not least -Â Buy tickets and attend games.Â
