Georgia State Unveils 2025 Men’s Soccer Roster

ATLANTA – Georgia State men's soccer has officially unveiled its 2025 roster, as announced by head coach Brett Surrency on Monday.  

Georgia State's 2025 roster is anchored by a seasoned group of returners, highlighted by senior forward Matthew Taylor, who returns as a key attacking threat after finishing second on the team with four goals last season. 

In the midfield, seniors Gavin Williams, Braiden Hall and graduate student Tom Williams combined for hundreds of minutes and multiple starts in 2024. Defensively, graduate student Hideto Gondo and senior Tom Fillaudeau return to reinforce the backline. 

Joining the Panthers this fall is an exciting class of nine newcomers who bring both collegiate experience and high-level youth success with five transfers and four freshmen.  

Samir Djeha | Forward | University of Montreal | Montreal, Canada 

Djeha joins Georgia State after a breakout freshman season at the University of Montreal, where he was named RSEQ Rookie of the Year and earned USPORTS All-Rookie Team honors. He also received RSEQ First-Team All-Star and All-Rookie Team selections, finishing the season with seven goals and two assists in 10 matches. He helped lead Montreal to a 12–1–1 record, a Provincial Championship and a USPORTS National Championship Silver Medal. Prior to Montreal, Djeha attended Champlain College Saint-Lambert where he was a two-time Team MVP, CCAA All-Canadian and RSEQ First-Team All-Star. He totaled 18 goals and eight assists across the two seasons. 

Loan Marin | Goalkeeper | Presbyterian College | Lyon, France 

Marin comes to Georgia State after starting all 18 matches for Presbyterian College in 2024, posting a .700 save percentage with 58 saves and four clean sheets. He was twice named Big South Defensive Player of the Week. 

Before Presbyterian, Marin played at Southwest Mississippi CC in 2023, earning MACCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors three times and NJCAA National Goalkeeper of the Week once. He recorded 77 saves and four shutouts in 15 matches. In 2022, he appeared in 13 matches at Northwest College. 

Sandro Sacha Rabarivony | Midfielder | Presbyterian College | Saint-Pierre, Réunion Island 

Rabarivony joins the Panthers after a strong 2024 season at Presbyterian College, where he tallied four goals and three assists across 16 appearances. He was named to the Big South All-Tournament Team and earned Big South Player of the Week honors. As a freshman in 2023, he played in 13 games and earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors. 

Joel Gonzalez | Defender | Kentucky | Lawrenceville, Ga.

Gonzalez comes to Georgia State after appearing in 31 matches over two seasons at Kentucky. As a freshman in 2023, he made 19 appearances, assisted in the team's NCAA Tournament win over Xavier and contributed to a shutout backline. 

Virgil Dall'Agnol | Midfielder | Seton Hall | Grenoble, France 

Dall'Agnol transfers to Georgia State after starting 26 of 32 matches over two seasons at Seton Hall. In 2024, he helped the Pirates to a top-10 national ranking and six clean sheets. He contributed three assists during the 2023 campaign. He played USL2 with Fort Wayne FC in 2025, leading the team to a Valley Division title and Conference Semifinal. He also played for FC Montceau Bourgogne and spent time with AS Prix-les-Mézières and Tours FC U19. 

Ange Tapchom | Midfielder | Lassiter HS | Detroit, Mich.

Tapchom joins Georgia State after playing in the MLS NEXT League and helping Southern Soccer Academy win the Capelli Cup. He recorded two goals and an assist in a standout U-16 match against LSA. He was a two-time Principal's Award winner, four-time Honor Roll student. 

Jackson Burrell | Goalkeeper | Collins Hill HS | Dacula, Ga. 

Burrell comes to Georgia State after a decorated prep career at Collins Hill High School, where he earned Georgia 7A All-State First Team honors and Region Goalkeeper of the Year in 2024. He finished with 28 shutouts and was a two-time Gwinnett County Super 6 Athlete. During his time in ECNL, he was named to the Southeast First Team in 2023–24 and helped lead his team to a Conference Cup Championship, earning ECNL Conference Cup Athlete recognition. 

Brandon Graham | Midfielder | Kell HS | Marietta, Ga. 

Graham arrives after earning ECNL All-American honors in 2023 and two All-Conference selections. He recorded 80+ goals across ECNL and high school play, including 43 goals and 28 assists in ECNL over three seasons. He was a two-time team Offensive Player of the Year, GACA All-State First Team selection and team captain. 

Austin Chavarria-Flores | Forward | North Forsyth HS | Cumming, Ga. 

Chavarria-Flores joins the Panthers after scoring over 120 goals across high school and club play. He was twice named ECNL All-American, ECNL Conference Player of the Year and three-time First Team All-Region. He also earned multiple All-State and All-County honors and helped lead North Forsyth to a Region Runner-Up finish in 2024.
