Georgia State Releases 2025 Football Roster

ATLANTA — Georgia State Football has officially released its 2025 roster, as announced by head coach Dell McGee.

The 2025 roster features 41 returning players from the 2024 squad and 68 new additions, including 33 incoming freshmen.

Leading the returners are two of the most impactful players from the 2024 season, wide receiver Ted Hurst and quarterback Christian Veilleux, who both made significant contributions in their first seasons in Atlanta.

Hurst quickly emerged as a go-to target in the Panthers' offense last fall. The Savannah, Ga. native earned All-Sun Belt Second Team and College Football Network All-Sun Belt First Team honors after a breakout campaign in which he recorded 56 receptions for 961 yards and a school-record nine touchdowns. He surpassed 100 receiving yards in four games, highlighted by a career-high 173 yards and nine receptions against Arkansas State (Nov. 16). His 76-yard touchdown grab against Georgia Southern was the team's longest of the season, and he delivered in the clutch with two touchdowns—including the game-winner with 15 seconds remaining—in the upset win over Vanderbilt (Sept. 14).

Under center, Veilleux provided stability and firepower for the Panthers' offense. Appearing in 10 games, the quarterback completed 166-of-291 passes for 2,047 yards and 13 touchdowns. He threw a season-high 356 yards against Georgia Southern and matched his personal best with three touchdown passes in matchups against Vanderbilt and Texas State. He also proved dangerous on the ground, rushing for a career-high 62 yards, including a 23-yard scamper, and recording his first career rushing touchdown against Vanderbilt.

The incoming class of incoming transfers is headlined by a group of experienced transfers who are expected to make an immediate impact. Running backs Rashod Amos (Ole Miss) and Djay Braswell (South Carolina) join the Panthers' offense, as well as wide receiver Leo Blackburn (Georgia Tech). The Panthers also welcome Sun Belt transfers PJ Hatter (Texas State) and Wesley Campbell VI (ULM).
