ATLANTA --Junior Maia Mumpfield went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Georgia State Panthers in a 6-1 loss to the South Alabama Jaguars on Sunday.
Senior Emily Hodnett (2-7) started and took the loss in the circle for Georgia State (10-23, ). Sophomore Makayla Stephens was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going four innings, surrendering two runs, both earned, on five hits, walking two and striking out six.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers were trailing 2-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Georgia State got on the board thanks to Mumpfield's RBI double. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as South Alabama added four runs to their tally on the way to a 6-1 final.
