BOCA RATON – Georgia State dropped both games of their doubleheader at Joan Joyce Field on Saturday afternoon, falling 10-1 to Clemson in Game One and 4-2 to Wisconsin in Game Two.
GSU will conclude the Paradise Classic on Sunday, February 9 with a doubleheader against Wisconsin at 9 a.m. and host Florida Atlantic at 1:45 p.m.
Maia Mumpfield went a combined 3-for-5 to lead Georgia State at the plate.
GAME ONE: Clemson 10, Georgia State 1 (Six Innings)
Game One was scoreless until the fourth inning when
Lauren Brister hit a leadoff double, stole third, and scored on a double by
Maia Mumpfield to give Georgia State (0-3) a 1-0 lead. That was the only run that GSU would muster as Clemson (2-2) responded with 10 unanswered runs over the next three innings to secure the run-rule victory.

Makayla Stephens (0-1) opened the game with three scoreless innings before surrendering three runs in the fourth.
GAME TWO: Wisconsin 4, Georgia State 2
Down 4-0 in the seventh, GSU rallied when
Lauren Brister drew a leadoff walk and advanced to third on a base-hit by
Maia Mumpfield.
Payton O'Connor came on to pinch-run for Mumpfield and advanced to third on an RBI single by
Ryleigh Garrett that scored Brister.
Ciarra Jefferson then flew out to center field to score O'Connor and make it 4-2. That was the only offense they could muster as Wisconsin (2-1) retired the next two batters to earn the win.

Kate Kastelic (0-1) pitched out of a jam in the first inning, but allowed one run in the second and absorbed the loss.
