How It Happened

After falling behind 13-8, Georgia State went on an 8-0 run with 14:22 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Lane, to take a 16-13 lead. The Panthers then added 18 points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 51-30 advantage. Georgia State relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down eight shots to account for 24 of its 51 points.

Following intermission, Georgia State kept widening that lead, expanding it to 79-52 before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Brown's jumper, to grow the lead to 87-52 with 3:31 to go in the contest. The Warhawks narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Panthers still cruised the rest of the way for the 97-64 win. Georgia State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting seven shots from deep to score 21 of its 46 points.
