ATLANTA— Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University have agreed to a home-and-home football series starting in 2026, Athletic Directors
Charlie Cobb and Milton Overton announced on Thursday afternoon.
The Panthers are set to travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, while the Owls will visit Center Parc Credit Union Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2028.
Georgia State and Kennesaw State have met one time in football prior to the home-and-home agreement, when the Panthers defeated the Owls 24-20 at home to start the 2018 season. This game marked the highest-attended Georgia State football game in program history inside Center Parc Credit Union Stadium.
The game in 2026 joins the previously scheduled non-conference matchups against North Carolina A&T (Sept. 5) and Georgia Tech (Sept. 19), while the 2028 game joins the previously scheduled non-conference matchup at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Sept. 22).

Georgia State Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb:
"We are excited to schedule these games, and we hope this becomes a long-standing tradition between the two programs. Fans, alumni and students from both schools will be energized, and we know that the tickets to games will be in high demand."
Kennesaw State Director of Athletics Milton Overton:
"We're excited to announce the addition of Georgia State to our future football schedules. The proximity of our campuses and the relationship that we share as members of the University System of Georgia, Georgia State provides our fans an opportunity to build a friendly interstate rivalry that benefits both institutions. It will be tremendous fun to square off in crosstown matchups and give our players a chance to play another game each year right here in the neighborhood."
